HUIZACHE

Huizache, whose name came from the Nahuatl meaning “It smells like honey” , from the aroma of its yellow flowers that look like pom poms of fibers.  Its extended and shallow roots make it ideal to avoid soil erosion, its wood is very hard but little used nowadays due to the difficulty of dealing with its spines.
